Connie Holen
Marketing Leader • Tech Stack Strategist • Advocate for practical Studio Growth
The boutique fitness industry is entering its next era — where visibility, booking technology, and client experience must work together seamlessly.
My work focuses on helping studio owners build businesses that are visible, profitable, and supported by systems — not stress.
From AI and search visibility to website conversion and booking infrastructure, my sessions translate industry shifts into clear, practical strategies studio owners can implement immediately.
Industry Experience
For more than a decade, I worked alongside boutique fitness studio owners — not from the sidelines, but in the trenches.
As the founder of Pixality Design, a digital agency serving 350+ studios, I helped operators navigate churn, thin margins, platform changes, and evolving consumer behavior. My work included designing conversion-driven websites, implementing scheduling software stacks, and building lifecycle marketing systems that turn first-time visitors into long-term members.
Today I serve as Head of Marketing + Client Experience at Zipper, a SaaS platform built specifically for boutique fitness studios.
This perspective — working both with operators and inside a technology company — allows me to connect the dots between:
visibility and search
booking systems and revenue
marketing strategy and daily operations
My sessions are grounded, strategic, and immediately actionable. Attendees leave with clarity, not overwhelm.

The boutique fitness market is more crowded than it's ever been. In most cities, prospective clients have three, five, maybe ten studios to choose from — and they're making decisions fast, based on what they see and read in the first few seconds. If your brand isn't communicating clearly and confidently, someone else's is.
In this session, Connie breaks down the four brand elements that determine whether a prospective client sees your studio as the obvious choice — or keeps scrolling. You'll learn how to sharpen the words that describe what you do, what a brand photoshoot actually needs to accomplish (and how to plan one that works), how to identify what makes your studio genuinely distinct in your market, and how to design an intro offer that turns browsers into committed clients.
You'll leave with: a clear sense of where your brand is doing the work — and where it's quietly costing you the people you most want to attract.

Before someone books a class, they have to find you. Today's fitness consumers discover studios through a constantly shifting mix of AI-assisted search, online reviews, social platforms, and real-world visibility in their own neighborhoods. If your studio isn't showing up in those moments of discovery, you're invisible to the exact people already looking for what you offer.
In this session, Connie introduces her Visibility Framework — Search, Social, and Signage — a practical approach to helping studios show up consistently both online and in their local community. You'll learn how today's consumers actually discover local fitness studios, why reviews and local listings drive discovery in AI-powered search, how community-driven social content compounds over time, and the practical ways to build local awareness and word-of-mouth that don't require a marketing budget.
You'll leave with: a clear picture of where your studio is currently visible — and the highest-impact actions to take first to start showing up where it counts.
-
For boutique fitness studios, the new client journey is uniquely high-stakes. Prospective clients are often new to the method, intimidated by the equipment, and quietly asking themselves whether they'll fit in, keep up, or be welcome. If your studio doesn't answer those unspoken questions at every step — from first click to confirmed booking — you're losing people you've already won.
In this session, Connie walks through the micro-moments between discovery and conversion, using a real-world "mystery shopper" framework to reveal where studios are unknowingly losing prospective clients. She'll show what a high-trust new client journey actually looks and feels like from the outside — and where most studios have invisible gaps they've never thought to audit.
You'll leave with: a practical audit checklist and a clear picture of what your new client experience looks like to the person deciding whether to book.

Marketing gets prospective clients to your checkout page. Converting them is a different discipline entirely. While most studio advice focuses on attracting and nurturing leads, the final step — the actual purchase — is where conversion optimization becomes a tactical, measurable craft. And it's the stage most studios have never intentionally designed.
In this session, Connie goes deep on the mechanics of turning ready-to-buy prospects into paying clients. You'll learn the specific principles behind high-converting purchase flows, why small structural choices on a single page can outperform months of marketing work, and how to think like a conversion specialist about the most revenue-sensitive moment in your studio's funnel.
You'll leave with: a framework for evaluating your studio's first-purchase experience and a prioritized list of changes that move the needle on revenue — not just traffic.
